Up to 1/3 of colon cancer deaths are avoidable
with simple screening and prevention methods. It is important to
speak with your doctor about your risk and getting tested, and speak with
your family to see if anyone has had polyps or cancer of the colon,
rectum, breast, or any gland. It is also suggested that you:
* Get annual colorectal screening tests from age 50, and at 45 if you have
a family history.
* Eat a healthy low-fat and high fiber diet rich in fruits, vegetables,
and whole grains.
* Stay active, exercise regularly, and maintain a healthy body weight.
* Avoid smoking, and drink alcohol in moderation, if at all.
* For individuals previously diagnosed with colon polyps, two Caltrate Colon Health tablets (1200 mg) daily may help reduce the risk of
recurrence.
